SiOO:X 2/2 Surface Protection 5 L is an advanced surface treatment used as step 2/2 in the SiOO:X wood protection system, applied after the Wood Protection treatment. The product completes the treatment, binds the protection to the wood surface, and enhances the long-lasting effect of the entire SiOO:X system.
Surface Protection acts as a protective and finishing treatment over SiOO:X 1/2 Wood Protection. It reacts with the underlying wood protection treatment and helps form a strong silicon-based protective structure that shields the wood from moisture, dirt, and external stresses. The treatment is particularly suitable for decks, docks, wooden facades, and other outdoor wooden surfaces exposed to rain, UV radiation, temperature fluctuations, and wear.
One of the main advantages of SiOO:X Surface Protection is its ability to make the wood surface water-repellent yet diffusion-open. This means that the surface repels water but still allows the wood to breathe naturally. The breathable protection helps reduce moisture buildup in the wood and lowers the risk of cracking, mold, and rot.
SiOO:X 02 Surface Protection also helps to develop and even out the silver-grey patina characteristic of the SiOO:X system. The shade develops naturally over time, giving the wood surface a valuable, understated, and modern appearance. The result is particularly striking on decks, facades, and other visible wooden surfaces where long-lasting protection and a natural look are desired.
The product is applied when the Wood Protection has dried for at least 4 hours. Surface Protection is applied thinly and evenly with a brush, deck pad, or sprayer. Rain should be avoided from the start of the treatment until at least 60 minutes have passed since application. A freshly treated surface is sensitive when wet, so it should be handled carefully during drying.
A 5-liter package covers approximately 40 m², with a consumption rate of about 8 m²/l. When used correctly, Surface Protection improves the durability of the SiOO:X treatment, strengthens the wood's protection, and supports a long-lasting, easy-care, and beautiful silver-grey finish.
