SiOO:X 1/2 Wood Protection 5 L is an innovative, water-based, and environmentally friendly wood protection product for exterior wood surfaces, designed for long-lasting protection and a naturally beautiful silver-grey finish. This product is the first step in the SiOO:X treatment, preparing and protecting the wood before the finishing SiOO:X 02 Surface Protection treatment.
SiOO:X Wood Protection is based on patented silicon-based technology that penetrates deep into the wood and strengthens its surface structure. The treatment forms a mineral-based protective layer in the wood, helping to prevent moisture absorption, stress from weather conditions, and biological damage such as mold, algae, and rot.
SiOO:X is developed to mimic nature's own wood greying process, but in a controlled and even manner. Compared to traditional wood oils and surface treatments, Wood Protection helps create a uniform and valuable silver-grey patina without a patchy or uneven tone. The result develops naturally over time, giving your deck, dock, or facade a modern, timeless, and refined look.
The product belongs to the two-step SiOO:X system.
First, 1/2 Wood Protection is applied, which absorbs into the wood and strengthens it from within.
Then, 2/2 Surface Protection is applied, which finishes the surface, enhances protection, and forms a water-repellent yet breathable surface layer. Together, these two steps create a durable protective treatment that can provide wood with up to 10–15 years of protection depending on the application, conditions, and maintenance.
SiOO:X 01 Wood Protection is particularly suitable for decks, docks, wooden facades, wood panels, and other exterior wood surfaces that require both long-lasting protection and a natural appearance. Its water-based and non-toxic composition makes it a safe choice for both the user and the environment.
A 5-liter package covers approximately 40 m², with a consumption rate of about 8 m²/l.
One even coat is sufficient.
Special attention should be paid to end grains, cut surfaces, and other areas susceptible to moisture.
Brief Instructions for Use
Protect glass, aluminum, stone, tiles, and other adjacent surfaces from splashes.
- Clean the wood surface thoroughly with SiOO:X Pre-Wash cleaner.
- Rinse with water and allow the wood to dry completely.
- Mix SiOO:X 01 Wood Protection well before use and also during application.
- Apply one even coat to dry wood with a brush, deck pad, or sprayer.
- Treat end grains and cut surfaces with particular care.
- Wipe away any splashes immediately with a damp cloth.
