Quick Repair Guide: Silic One Primer Surface Repair

Assess the extent of the damage
- Less than 5×5 cm → minor damage
- More than 5×5 cm → medium or severe damage

Minor damage (less than 5×5 cm)
- Clean the area with Hempel’s Boat Shampoo
- Rinse and allow to dry
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One paint to the damaged area (extending beyond the damaged spot)

Medium damage (more than 5×5 cm, but not down to the substrate)
- Clean and dry as above
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One Tiecoat primer
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One coating to the entire area below the waterline

Severe damage (primer visible or substrate exposed)
- Clean, rinse, dry
- Sand and remove dust
- Apply 1–5 coats of Hempel’s Light Primer
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One Tiecoat
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One paint

Identifying Damage
Check if the Silic One layer, Tiecoat (yellow), epoxy primer, or even the boat material (hull) is visible. The repair method is chosen based on this assessment.
1. Minor Damage (< 5×5 cm)
- Indication: Tiecoat visible, not exposing the substrate

Actions:
- Clean the damaged area with Hempel’s Boat Shampoo
- Rinse with water and dry
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One paint, slightly extending beyond the damaged area
2. Medium Damage (> 5×5 cm, Tiecoat visible)
- Indication: Tiecoat is exposed and potentially damaged

Actions:
- Clean with shampoo + water, dry
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One Tiecoat
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One paint, slightly extending beyond the Tiecoat area
- Paint the entire area below the waterline with the same coat
3. Major Damage (> 5×5 cm, epoxy or hull visible)
- Indication: Light Primer or even the substrate material visible

Actions:
- Clean with Hempel’s Boat Shampoo
- Rinse with water and dry
- Sand and wipe away dust
- Apply 1–5 coats of Hempel’s Light Primer
- Allow to dry
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One Tiecoat
- Apply 1 coat of Silic One
- Treat the entire area below the waterline
