Previously varnished surfaces:
- Sand the surface with wet sandpaper (P320-360).
- Wash thoroughly with fresh water and allow to dry.
- Apply 2 coats of Spinnaker Polyurethane varnish.
- Perform light intermediate sanding after each coat.
- If there are grayed areas on the surface, sand them down to bare wood before starting the varnishing process.
New wooden surfaces:
- For the best possible result, apply at least 8 coats of varnish.
- For the best possible result, the first coat is thinned 50% with Thinner 811, the second 30%, and the third 10%.
- For the best possible result, light dry sanding is performed after each coat of varnish.
- Carefully remove sanding dust before the next coat.
Application tips:
- Combined roller and brush application: apply the varnish with a roller to an area of approximately 50 cm and immediately smooth horizontally with a brush.
- Ensure the correct temperature: +15°C is ideal – in too cool conditions, the varnish dries slowly and runs may occur; in too warm conditions, the film does not have time to level out.
- Do not varnish in direct sunlight – this can cause air bubbles.
- Reflecting light helps to see imperfections and ensure a smooth surface.

Thinning: Generally not needed, but the first coats can be thinned with Thinner 811.

Previously varnished surfaces in good condition: Wet sand with No. 320-360 paper. Rinse the surface thoroughly with fresh water. Once the surface is dry, apply 2 coats of Spinnaker. Perform light intermediate sanding between coats. If there are gray areas on the old varnish surface, these damaged areas must be sanded down to clean wood. The varnish layer in these areas must be rebuilt by spot-painting before the entire surface is varnished. If the old varnish surface is cracking or flaking, the old varnish layer should be removed, and the surface treated as a new wooden surface.
New wooden surface: The best result is achieved by applying at least 8 coats of varnish. The first coat of varnish is thinned 50% with Thinner 811, the second 30%, and the third 10%. Subsequent coats of varnish are not thinned. Each coat of varnish is allowed to dry thoroughly, after which a light dry sanding is performed before applying the next coat of varnish. Carefully remove sanding dust.
