Instructions for Use and Work Procedure

Start by thoroughly cleaning the wood surface to be treated. The surface must be dry, dust-free, grease-free, and absorbent. Varnish works best on untreated or previously oiled wood surfaces, where it can penetrate.

If the surface has old paint, varnish, or other film-like treatments, the varnish will not penetrate properly. Such treatments must be removed before using the varnish if the goal is a protective oil treatment that penetrates the wood.

Apply Maston Vernissa in a thin layer with a brush, cloth, or other suitable tool. Avoid too thick a layer, as excess oil can remain sticky on the surface and slow down drying. Allow the product to penetrate the wood and wipe off any excess unabsorbed varnish with a lint-free cloth.

If you use Maston Vernissa to make your own paints, such as red ochre paint or oil paint, always make a small test batch first. This ensures the product's compatibility with other raw materials before mixing the main paint batch.

Pre-treatment

The surface must be:
