Primer Undercoat is a fast-drying, high-opacity, urethane-modified alkyd primer containing zinc phosphate as an anti-corrosive pigment. It is used as a general-purpose primer in alkyd systems on bare wood, gelcoat, and steel surfaces, both indoors and outdoors above the waterline.

Precautionary statements:
Avoid breathing vapours, spray or mist. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/
eye protection/face protection. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other
ignition sources. No smoking.
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present
and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor.
Store in a cool place.

Used as a general primer in alkyd systems on clean wooden and steel surfaces, both indoors and outdoors ABOVE THE WATERLINE.
Not suitable for immersion.

Mix product well before use

Surface preparation:
Always ensure that all surfaces are clean, oil-free and dry. Clean the surface of dirt and remove grease and oil with a suitable detergent. Sand the surface with dry sandpaper. Carefully remove dust with fresh water.

Unpainted surface:
Fiberglass:
Sand the surface and remove dust.

New wood:
Sand the surface and remove dust. Saturate the dry and clean surface with a suitable wood impregnating agent and allow to dry.

Steel:
Remove salt and other impurities by cleaning with fresh water. Remove rust and loose material by blast cleaning or with a wire brush. Remove dust.

Previously treated surface: Sand, clean and dry the surface.

Application:
Mix product well before use. Spot-prime bare areas to full film thickness.

Previously treated surface:
Apply two coats of the product.

Wood:
First, apply a coat of the product thinned with the recommended thinner Hempel Thinner 811 max. 10%. Finally, apply 2 coats of the product.

Fiberglass/Steel:
Apply two coats of the product. If necessary, add thinner max. 5%. To achieve a smooth surface, sanding is recommended between coats. Overcoat with the selected topcoat.

Previous paint layer: Hempel’s Wood Impreg (for new wood)

Shelf life: 5 years from the date on the lid

Pohjamaaalina hyvin tasoittuva, korjaa 2-3 kertaa vedettynä
hyvin pieniä naarmuja. Huoparissa toimii parhaiten.
