Epifanes Clear Varnish is a classic high-gloss and extremely self-leveling boat varnish, designed for finishing boat wooden parts for interior and exterior use above the waterline. The warm amber tone of the varnish deepens the natural look of the wood and forms an impressive, vibrant glossy surface.
The varnish is based on a combination of phenolic resin, alkyd resin, and tung oil. The result is a flexible and highly adhesive varnish film suitable for wood that expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. Epifanes' UV filter helps prevent wood discoloration and premature gloss degradation, making the varnish ideal for demanding marine conditions.
Epifanes Clear Varnish can be used on new bare wood and for maintenance varnishing of existing one- and two-component varnish surfaces in good condition, regardless of brand. The product is not suitable for direct application over epoxy resin without a separate compatible system or manufacturer's instructions.

Quick guide
Ensure the wood is dry, clean, grease-free, and sanded.
For bare wood, thin the first coats: 50%, 25%, 15%, then 0–5%.
Apply thin, even coats with a high-quality, soft brush with long bristles.
Allow to dry for approximately 24 hours at 20 °C before sanding and applying the next coat.
Lightly sand between coats in the direction of the wood grain.
Build up sufficient film thickness: at least 7 coats for bare wood, more in high UV exposure.
