Hempel High Protect II

Pre-treatment:
Always ensure that all surfaces are clean, oil-free and dry. Clean the surface of dirt and remove grease and oil with a suitable detergent.
Sand the surface with dry sandpaper.
Carefully remove dust with fresh water.

Painting:
Fiberglass:
Ensure that new gelcoat surfaces have been thoroughly cleaned and that old paint layers have been removed from previously coated surfaces.
Apply 1 coat of the product. (150 microns). Allow to dry.
Level and sand the surfaces if necessary.
Apply 1 coat of the product. (150 microns). Total: 300 microns.

Steel:
Apply the product in 3 dry film layers of 150 microns each. Total: 450 microns.

Repair:
Remove the gelcoat surface and allow the hull to dry. Apply 1 coat of the product. (150 microns).
Allow to dry.
Level and sand the surfaces if necessary.
Apply the product in 3 dry film layers of 150 microns each. Total: 600 microns.
Treat the surface with HEMPEL's primer/adhesion primer and selected topcoat/antifouling paint according to instructions. The next single-component primer is applied while the epoxy surface is still tacky.

Mixing ratio:
3 : 2 by volume.
Mix the base and add the hardener. Mix well. After mixing the paint, wait several minutes for air bubbles to disappear.

Pot life: 45 minutes

Shelf life: 3 years from the date on the lid

Product Description
Hempel’s High Protect II is a two-component, solvent-free epoxy paint suitable for osmosis protection and repair. The product is easy to apply and highly resistant to environmental conditions. It forms a hard, durable, and water-repellent surface.

Recommended use
The product can also be used as a primer for fiberglass or steel boats below the waterline. The product is suitable for preventing and repairing osmosis blisters caused by fiberglass, both above and below the waterline.
