Le Tonkinois Marine No. 1 – Extreme durability and UV protection for demanding surfaces
Marine No. 1 varnish is perfect for finishing wood and metal surfaces exposed to extreme weather conditions. This product has been developed to be tougher than traditional Vernis varnish, offering excellent resistance to abrasion, scratching, and impact. Thanks to its transparent UV protective pigments, it is the right choice especially for outdoor surfaces that receive unobstructed sunlight all day long.
Natural and safe composition The varnish is based on pure natural raw materials, such as linseed oil, tung oil, and natural resins. It is completely solvent-free and contains no chemical drying agents. Due to its safe composition, it is saliva and perspiration resistant and suitable even for children's toys.
Application and coverage The varnish offers excellent coverage: one liter is sufficient for approximately 20 m² per coat. For best results, it is recommended to use a natural bristle brush or a high-quality short-pile roller.
Key applications and recommendations:
Boat decks and hulls: 6–10 coats for optimal protection.
Docks and terraces (full sun): 6–8 coats.
Exterior surfaces exposed to weather: 5–6 coats.
Gloss control: The product is naturally glossy, but can be dulled to a semi-gloss or matte finish by mixing Gélomat additive into the final coats.
Important note: Always stir the varnish gently before use – do not shake the can. Shaking can cause air bubbles that may remain visible on the dried surface.
