Hempel's Infinity – A new generation coating for renovating the Silic One system

QUICK GUIDE: Using Infinity

  • Ensure the underlying Silic One coating is in good condition.
  • Wash the surface with fresh water and remove grease and impurities.
  • Mix Infinity thoroughly.
  • Apply evenly with a generous amount using a brush or roller.
  • Allow to dry for at least 24 hours (48 hours at temperatures below +10 °C).
  • Launch no earlier than 24 hours after application.

1. General Information

Hempel's Infinity is a water-based, VOC-free coating designed to extend the protection of Silic One coatings for the next sailing season without traditional repainting.

2. When can Infinity be used?

  • When the boat bottom has been previously coated with Hempel's Silic One or Hempasil Pro.
  • When the existing coating is intact and in good condition.
  • If there are damages on the bottom (flaking, detached paint), they must be repaired before applying Infinity coating.

3. If the old Silic One surface has damage:

  1. Sand or scrape off loose paint.
  2. Clean the area thoroughly: remove grease, salt, dirt, and dust.
  3. Use the following repair sequence:
  4. Allow repaired areas to dry for at least 24 hours (max. 1 month) before applying Infinity coating.

4. Application Instructions

  • Suitable application tools: Brush or roller.
  • Coverage: approx. 8.9 m² / liter.
  • Dry content: 13 %
  • Apply generously – the entire treated area must be fully covered.
  • Drying time:
    • 20 °C: Touch dry 4 h, launch after 24 h.
    • Below 10 °C: Launch only after 48 h.
  • Humidity: < 85 %
  • Temperature: At least 3 °C above dew point.
  • Thinner and cleaning: Fresh water.
