1. Preparatory work before painting

• Clean the surface thoroughly, e.g., with Hempel’s Pre-Clean.
• Lightly sand (e.g., with P120 sandpaper).
• Rinse with fresh water and allow to dry completely.

2. Light Primer (2-5 coats)

First coat:

• Thinning: 20% with Hempel thinner
• Drying time:
  • +10 °C: 8 h
  • +20 °C: 4 h
  • +30 °C: 3 h
• Max. waiting time before next coat: 60 days (10 °C), 30 days (20 °C), 22 days (30 °C)

Subsequent coats:

• Thinning: max 5%
• Drying time:
  • +10 °C: 4 h
  • +20 °C: 2 h
  • +30 °C: 1 h
• Max. waiting time before next coat: 60 days (10 °C), 30 days (20 °C), 22 days (30 °C)

Tip: Light Primer coats must be completely dry before applying the Tiecoat layer.

3. Silic One Tiecoat (1 coat)

• Do not thin
• Ensuring a covering layer is important
• Drying time:
  • +10 °C: 16 h
  • +20 °C: 8 h
  • +30 °C: 4 h
• Max. waiting time before topcoat: 48 h (10–20 °C), 24 h (30 °C)

4. Silic One (2 coats)

• Do not thin
• Apply 2 coats the first time; subsequently, 1 coat every other year is sufficient
• Drying time:
  • +10 °C: min. 16 h
  • +20 °C: min. 16 h
  • +30 °C: min. 8 h
• No max. waiting time for the next coat (but the surface must be cleaned after 48 h before applying a new coat)

5. Launching

• After the final coat, the boat can be launched:
  • +10 °C: 36 h
  • +20–30 °C: 24 h
• Within 1 month at the latest from painting
